Heya~

Based on my gaming experience, so might need some explaining: right after the Disco Elysium Jamais Vu update, when I first discovered that Kim can get different icon and jacket, there weren’t yet any clear instructions how exactly to make it happen.
The only two discussions I found online on the subject said that it’s connected to Get Kim to Wear *The Jacket* achievement (implying Pissf****t one), but how precisely to get it was unclear and ‘possibly bugged, you might need to try several times’ yadda yadda (and after encountering the Pigs bug it didn’t sound that far-fetched).

Without going into many details my stubborn ass had to do three whole runs (not counting multiple reloads and replays) before finally figuring out you simply have to finish entire game in a hard-core mode (no need to bother with piss jacket at all).
So when I FINALLY, after several weeks, on the verge of desperation hurried down and saw Kim in the new jacket, me and Harry both practically weeped from joy~
*to the point I was genuinely surprised there’s no dialogue to aknowledge the change (and after all of the self-imposed sufferring I kinda needed one, so…here we are)

You woke up in a shallow grave with no memories, no weapon but a strong conviction you’re a prophet with magical powers, and now you need to find how to stop the sand plague~
Harry doesn’t get Clara’s healing mojo, but his can-opening powers already work similar to her hooks, soooo he won’t be completely helpless… all the voices are still present, though Esprit de Corps is now tuned to the town healers (and isn’t it fun with Burakh and Dankovsky actively trying to off each other in Clara’s route) and Shivers is now speaks for Gorkhon (which won’t be as pleasant as Revachol at all)~
All the other townspeople are baffled at best, but you still have a chance to stay with Saburovs if you play your cards right with not Katerina but Alexander, as a fellow man of the law (otherwise Harry is stuck with Grace, that poor girl)~

Meanwhile Kim is reliving his worst nightmare where he has to finish the case with teenager who proclaims herself next Innocence

KIM KITSURAGI - The lanky man shakes his head. “No. It would be highly irresponsible of me to let a child onto a murder scene.” He looks over to the two red-headed kids throwing rocks at the body. “Or… more children, rather. Stay on the other side of this fence while I finish inspecting the body. Do. Not. Leave.”

i fucking love thikning abt how kim would deal with clara especially cus its established hes Not Good with children??? and how clara is very um. self important somewhat. idk how to say it well in english. another thing that i kept thikning about all day afteri saw this post was how the confrontation with titus hardie would go if it was clara instead. which i might draw later (ANYONE ELSE FEEL FREE TO AS WELL BTW… PLEASE DO)

Clara being meta-aware would eventually figure out what’s needed of her is to solve the case to get back, so first she’d try to get Kim on her side (and when he obviously refuses) starts investigating on her own, dogging him, charming and questioning witnesses first, being absolute nuisance, etc.
I think Kim would eventually see some truth in that crazy girl’s words, specifically after day three when 41st squad starts searching for Harry (or his body), and since there’s a life of fellow RCM officer on the line, Kim will reluctantly join forces with her in the end, but yeah will be so very Very unhappy about it all~
